Hobson's Bay North Model Railway

This is a place where I will try to outline the formation of a new Australian Model Railway to be established in Northern Victoria. As I have long standing links with the Hobsons Bay MRC I requested and was allowed to create a branch of the main club based in Melbourne.

I am 63 and into model railways since I was a boy. A friend,took me along to see a large railway one Friday night and soon I was one of the regular operators.The HO layout used US tenshodo brass.People that welcome kids do much to promote our hobby to the young. From that time my interest grew. I am not a great modeller, I do the best that I can. I have been part of various model clubs including NMRA, AMRA, VMRS and the MMRS when l was Melbourne based, I helped restart the Northern Model Railway Club at Coburg and started off Hobsons Bay Model Railway club with several railway mates when I worked at South Dynon Loco (1987).In 1997 I transferred back to my home depot at Wodonga. I have since retired from the Railways and built a new home on 10 acres here at Osbornes flat (22km south of Wodonga) The Train Barn is finished and the layout planning is almost complete. However the pictures show that I have a long way to go, just sorting out 40 years of stored model railways :o)) In time I hope that a club will be established here that people interested in Australian outline HO scale will come and help put together. I also, will invite young people to come and "play trains"
